Why values are important in a school

The values of a school are very important. It is the values and vision that determine the behaviours everyone in the school community agree to live by, and on which all strategic planning is based, as discussed by Goconqr.

To find out what a school stands for, simply ask a random selection of its teachers, students and parents about what they believe the school stands for. If the answers are similar, then the school community believes and aims to live by them. When everyone is aligned behind shared values and beliefs then the school can be called a ‘learning community.’
